True Promise Operation Manifestation of Iran’s Resolve to Confront Aggression: IRGC Chief
Speaking at a meeting of the Assembly of Experts in Tehran on Wednesday, Major General Hossein Salami said it demonstrated to the world and to the Israeli regime the Islamic Republic’s strong determination to confront any act of aggression.
The operation defeated the regional and international alliance made to defend the Tel Aviv regime and shattered the illusion of the regime’s security, he added.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is a world power today and is standing firm against the arrogant, he went on to say.
He also said the Zionist regime would not last for one day without the all-out support from the United States, describing the Israeli reliance on this support as a strategic mistake.
On October 1, 2024, Iran launched a barrage of missiles toward the Zionist entity’s military and intelligence and spying bases in a retaliatory attack which set off sirens all over the occupied Palestinian territories.
Flares and missiles were seen in the Tel Aviv sky and explosions could be heard in the occupied al-Quds, while “direct hits” were reported in Negev, Sharon, and other locations.
The operation, named Operation True Promise II, came in response to the regime’s assassinations of Hamas’s chief Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah’s leader Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, and IRGC commander Abbas Nilforoushan.

Elsewhere in his remarks at the Assembly of Experts meeting on Wednesday, Major General Salami highlighted the unprecedented braveries of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah and the people of the Gaza Strip against Israel.
He said the heroic people of Gaza have stood against the largest military alliance in the history of the world, adding that the Zionists have gained nothing after more than a year of attacks on the Palestinian enclave despite all of their atrocities there.
As for Hezbollah, he stated, the Zionist regime thought it could end the influence of the resistance movement by assassinating its leaders and commanders but Hezbollah is now dominant in the scene of confrontation with the regime and the equation is changing in favor of resistance day after day.
